Biography

Dakara Black had been a run away, originally she was raised by a very influential family but after teenage hormones kicked in she headed for the nearest slum settlement to get as far away from her parents as she could. It was the last time she saw her parents as they were killed while looking for her. Instead she teamed up with a group called the Omega.

The Omega quickly became her only friends, family even. Yet they were all without exception, bandits and thieves running their own ship the Sleipner. This was where she got her education and it was a surprisingly rigid curriculum. With a mixture of engineering, helm control and the physical graft she became a respected member of the crew and found herself piloting the Sleipner almost full time. The ship itself was an old rust bucket she handled it well.

She wasn't the leader of the group, but she was able to take the ship on personal endeavours. However it was during a mission with the group that they were ambushed and she was taken prisoner. If she had been piloting the vessel perhaps they wouldn't have been caught by the cardassians who prompty destroyed the vessel. Alone in an escape pod she met the same fate as many on Deep Space Maxia and she was sent there almost immediately.

Unable to get home and unlike certain others she didn't have the opportunity to get home either. Instead she found herself learning how to clean a space station and she realised just why being with the Omega group hadn't been a good thing, she'd missed on lessons like honor and dignity. Dakara also found out that her parents had died searching for her and this inspired her to be then on a good person.

At the age of 22 she was allowed to put her piloting skills to use with the shuttle trips and a number of the worker bee's to help repair the station. Dakara soon found that her skills were sought after and began learning more complicated movements again.

It were her piloting skills and general attitude to work that got her picked by the commanding officer of the Asauchi to become the Chief Helm Officer.

Personality

She's passionate and forth coming, if it hasn't been done before, she'll give it a shot.

Strengths and Weaknesses

She's very independent and daring.

Unfortunately for her she mis-behaves a lot and does things that she thinks should be done. Dakara also doesn't respond to authority very well
